Snapshots outline carbon emissions for Australian municipalities. They are designed to help community groups and government take action on climate.
Communities and councils have a strong and proud history of leading climate action. This tool provides greenhouse gas emission profiles at the municipal level. Through offering a snapshot of local emissions, communities are equipped with the information they need to continue to drive change.
This is the first national tool with data for every municipality in Australia. What makes it unique is that a common framework allows for comparison between municipalities. The cornerstone of this framework is that all the local profiles together add up to the national emissions total, meaning that no emissions go unaccounted for.
Each Snapshot is free to download (as a PDF) and are currently available for over 100 municipalities. In addition to this, a Cohort Comparison is available for $450AUD. Read the User Guide for more information about your Snapshot and how to use it.
The Snapshot community climate tool has been led by Beyond Zero Emissions and Ironbark Sustainability.
